Media Self-Regulation Wokshop this weekend

A UNESCO programme hosted by the Media Association of Saint Lucia (MASL) and facilitated by the International Press Institute (IPI) and the Association of Caribbean Media Workers (ACM)

As part of the Media Association of Saint Lucia’s (MASL) efforts to enable a more professional media environment on Saint Lucia, the organisation will this weekend host a one-day consultation on Media Self-Regulation. The UNESCO funded programme is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Monroe College at Barnard Hill.

A closed workshop for media professionals, it will be facilitated by Executive Director of the International Press Institute (IPI), Mrs. Alison Bethel-McKenzie and the General Secretary of the Association of Caribbean Media Workers (ACM) Wesley Gibbins.

The workshop will examine what media self-regulation means, explore international self-regulation models and discuss journalistic codes of ethics and their application.

The workshop is sponsored by Monroe College, Rex Saint Lucian Resort, Flavours of the Grill Restaurant and FLOW.
