Message from the President on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day 2015

(Castries, May 17, 2015) As we join with the rest of the world in celebrating World Press Freedom Day, I do so with a sense of pride in the enormous strides we have made locally and globally in the advancement of the press and media in general. World Press Freedom Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO's General Conference and has been observed since then on 3 May: the anniversary of the Declaration of Windhoek.
